[request] Short category descriptions

    Hi!
    I’m fairly new to wordpress, I’ve only been skinning it lately, but now I’ve gotten into getting it really set up. I looked around for a category description so I can set descriptions for each category, and then call them up in my templates using a variable but I have had no luck finding such thing.
    I cannot code if my life depended on it and I have no idea how to go about doing this. Is there anyway I can add a short description to a category and then have a variable to show that?

    Descs are turned on somewhere else in link options somewhere.

    Hmm.. ah great, I didn’t know here was such thing.
    I added the category description tag with an echo around it,
    <?php echo(category_description(category)); ?>
    but it doesnt seem to do anything.
    any other way to do this?
