  • A scan of your site shows no sign of a hack. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Thankyou very much for your response

I deactivated all plugins – no change

Is there something i need to do to get rid of the text? Its got various words related to the photocrati theme underneath all the random rubbish about loans etc

What has actually occured to get all that text up there?

    Thanks

    Rick

What about trying the other steps I suggested?

I added and activated Akismet and the cookies for comments one.

I added the phpmyadmin wordpress plug in but cant work out how to do what is suggested in that link. When i click on PMA on the dashboard it says i do not have permission to access that.

    Thanks

    Rick

You cannot run Phpmyadmin from your computer. It’s run by your hosts and you will need to ask them how to access it. Have you tried changing your theme yet?

I didn’t know who my host was, as someone else set up my wordpress site initially – I just did a search and it is hosted by godaddy.com. Do i need to get in contact with the person who set it up initially to get additional details – bit confused tbh –

I really don’t want to change my theme, the photocrati one displays my photos how i want them. Where is this text coming from? How has it go onto my site and above/in my header. Do i need to contact photocrati?

    Thanks

I just found that the galleries aren’t working – if you click on the thumbs in the galleries the lightboxes don’t come up to take you through the images.

Do i need to get in contact with the person who set it up initially to get additional details

Yes. These details should have been passed to you when the site ws handed over.

Where is this text coming from? How has it go onto my site and above/in my header.

That’s what the steps I suggested above are intended to find out.

Do i need to contact photocrati?

No. It has nothing to do with them.

Okay, so I need to get in contact with the guy who set it up initially for my hosts details – and then to find out whats going on I need to get in contact with the hosts and ask the how to access Phpmyadmin?

Is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks

Below is an email back form the person who set up the site for me:

Your website is currently on our free plan hosted by GoDaddy on a shared server. GoDaddy do have very good online help forums and articles and excellent phone help however they are unlikely to be able to answer queries over the phone as you don’t have the hosting account account number or PIN which we cannot give out. You may want to give it a try however so god luck. If you want to have full access to hosting support and settings then you will need to set up your own paid hosting package and move the site there.

    What do I do now?

    Rick

If you cannot manage this yourself, perhaps you need to consider hiring someone to carry out the work for you.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I just need someone to tell me clearly what to do. Or even what’s happened?

I decided on a wordpress website as i was told there was good support.

    Rick
