    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble!

This is obviously a very good question, and it could a couple of reasons:
    – Are you using WordPress 3.4 or newer?
    – Is the plugin actually activated, i.e. is it in the “Active” list on the “Plugins” screen?
    – Are you using an “Author”, “Editor”, or “Administrator” account?

There were some changes regarding the necessary access rights in 0.8-beta, so these could also be the reason.

If you really can’t find the entry in the menu, I’d like to take a direct look at your site, if possible. For that, could you please contact me via email? My address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”.

    Thanks!
    Tobias

I realised what happened. I have installed a plugin, called ‘Advanced Access Manager’ and it prevented Tablepress to appear in the admin menu. I had to add (?!) some extra rights to the Admin account, obviously it was affectded by the changes you mentioned above.
Sorry for bothering you! Please mark this as ‘resolved’.
And thanks for the great plugin!

    Hi,

thanks for further investigating this! This is indeed strange, but good to see that you found the reason. Basically, you’ll have to add all capabilities that start with “tablepress_” in their names to the “Administrator” role. I’m not sure, why “Advanced Access Manager” is preventing this from happening, but I’ll investigate this.

(Just for reference: By default, “Administrators” get all of those capabilities, while “Editors” and “Authors” get all of them, except “tablepress_edit_options” and “tablepress_import_tables_wptr”.)

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
