• I’ve done a fair amount of searching, but haven’t been able to find any definitive answer on this. Now that child themes are submittable to the WordPress.org Themes Directory, is there an established or accepted naming convention for them? I have a child theme that was submitted, but rejected due to the use of “Twenty Twelve” in the title of the theme (http://themes.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/9668).

It would obviously be beneficial that users see that such themes are child themes, and therefore require the parent. Also, if a user is already using a parent theme and would like to find a child theme based on that, having that metadata surfaced (as it already is in styles.css) would be very important, and putting it in the title would only make it easier.

I definitely understand the need to protect the identity of the original parent theme, no questions asked there. Just trying to figure out if there’s a standard for this before I try a resubmission. Thanks to all for your thoughts, especially members of the reviewing team.
