Permalinks Mod_Rewrite EXCEPT [folder_here]

Hi,

I was wondering if you could exclude a folder from the permalinks htaccess mod_rewrite code.

Say I want url.com/folder/ to not be directed towards wordpress, but instead to the folder itself.

I’ve already tried the solution from the following thread:

but it doesn’t seem to work.
