   I changed the default date format in the options>general options section to

   Y-m-d, D

   so that the date would format like

   2007-02-24, Sat

   It shows up correctly when I click "Update Options" and it shows me the preview, but when I go to "View Site" the dates still show up as

   February 24th, 2007

   which is the original default date format. It does this for both posts made before AND after I changed the date format as admin.

   What am I doing wrong?

   I have the same problem. I reset to

   D, M j, Y

   Should get Fri, Aug 3, 2007

   On the posts, it says 08 3rd, 2007 - which is a really weird format to start with. No matter how I reset the date format, the display never changes.

   I have php4.4.7, so I don't think that is the problem.

   Most likely it is hardcoded in the template file(s) of your theme.
