no comments allowed, 15 seconds error message

    I get this message when I try to post a comment on my blog.

    Sorry, you can only post a new comment once every 15 seconds.

    It has been much longer than 15 seconds. Any help on this?

    This is the standard WP comment “flood filtering”, which basically checks that there hasn’t already been a post from the same IP address or the same author email address in the last 15 seconds.

    How do you know it’s been much longer than that? Are you absolutely sure nobody else posted a comment within that timeframe using the same author email address? My bet is that’s what’s happened here.
