I have 3 categories in my blog. The permalinks for 2 of them survived the upgrade to 2.1 but the category, "events" returns a 404 error. No such problem with "General" and "President". My permalink structure is date/name.

The problem was Event Calendar 3.1 plugin. Updated the plug in to version 3.1.1 rc1. No more 404 problem.
