   Hello all!

   I use wordpress in many of my websites, but also I use it in a USB-sticky, as a kind of "diary", very personal, where I have photo gallery, information about my work, silly things about my "day-by-day" and so on... like a personal blog, but totally private.

   I travel a lot, and I don´t carry a notebook with me, I carry just this sticky (cyber cafes and computers everywhere...). I've been searching for a kind of Address Book to have it also with me. Now, I keep some information I may need in somewhere else at my gmail, but I would like to have a real contact manager in Wordpress.

   Does anybody knows about some plugin? I'm thinking about maybe do some changes in a page template, and have it sorted by name, where the posts can be the names, etc... but if it exists some better plugin, I would give it a try.

   Thanks a lot, I know this is a very unusual use of WP.

   Just thinking out loud here...

   Create a category called "Address Book"

   For each person you want in your "Address Book", write a post. For title, maybe go Lastname, First.
   Post contents type in address / phone numbers / whatever else you might want to check.

   Then grab a plugin like Category Visibility. With that, you can exclude your address book posts from showing up in your main blog listing. However, they're all there if you visit the category listing -- and, of course, all searchable with the basic WP search feature.

   Plausible?

   Alternatively, use the Links/Blogroll/Bookmarks. Each contact could be a link entry with useful information in their comments area. You could then throw it into the sidebar and have a list of all your contacts handy.

   @Otto, the Links/Bookmarks I already use for (what else?) Bookmarks... hahaha I'm tooo messy to use delicious or other service like it. But you are right, I had thought about it.

   @HandySolo, your idea is the most easy right now, I will do it, and also make a new template for this category.

   I tried to install your plugin and it didn't work. After activation all I got was a blank page for the entire site...all white, no content at all...

   I am using the addressbook plugin, but I really wish it were searchable. *sigh*

    ...oh, and I'll look at adding a search feature. Do you mean for admins, or in the front-end list?

    @ Kahil: I close comments on posts pertaining to old releases; only the most recent release has comments enabled. It just makes it easier to keep track of everything.

    @ twiggle: If you're still interested in a search feature, let me know on my blog and I'll see what I can do. (If no one asks for it again, I'm not going to bother... so ask for it again!)

    Also, the Addressbook plugin is now hosted at Wordpress.

    Can alter the way this plug in work. This is useful plugin if we can dedicate a page just to serve the addressbook instead of include <addressbook /> in a page.

    To add more interactivity, can we group the the entry and display the contact in a table. And if this entry be included in search result, whoa...it'd be more interesting
