• After upgrading from 2.04 to 2.1, my pages disappeared. After some digging, I realized they got turned into posts during the upgrade somehow.
At that point, I tried to create a new page but when I click to write a new page in the admin panel, it brings up a page with no entry box. Click here to see a screenshot.

I’ve seen some similar threads about this, but still haven’t been able to find any solution. Can anyone help me?

  • In your wp_posts table what is the value of the “post_status” field for those ‘pages’? It should be “static”.

The blank screen makes me think you may need to consider reuploading the 2.1 wordpress files. The uprrade my have failed also and need to be redone wp-admin/upgrade.php.

Thanks for the reply Michael. The value of the post_status field doesn’t say static. It says “publish”. I tried running the upgrade again also, and that didn’t work.

What theme are you using and what is the URL of the site?

I did the same thing when somehow I ran a 2.0.7 upgrade script. *oops*
The pages were still there but the post_type field said post instead of page. Change the field to ‘page’, edit and save the page. Your pages are then back.

^ I’m having the same problem (my pages were all gone after I upgraded to v2.1.3), and I went to phpMyAdmin to check the wp_posts table, and the post_type said ‘post’ instead of ‘page’.

The thing is, I don’t know how to edit that, and I don’t want to mess the database up because I know next to nothing about MySQL, so could someone please tell me how to edit it and get my pages back?

    This article might help.

Thank you Michael H! This topic saved me. Updated that value in my db and my pages re-appeared again.
