Considering its pedigree Konqueror is a real disappointment isn’t it ?.
Not really.
I love Konqueror. I use it for about 90% of my browsing needs. 🙂 I don’t really go to “designy” sites all that often. Almost everything I read online comes from news sites. IE: CNN, BBC, Fox, MSNBC, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, NYT, WPO, MEMRI, WSJ, etc…. They all render very nicely in Konqueror and I don’t really have any problems with them whatsoever. 🙂
I’m not awkward…
Just because I don’t regularly visit CSS-oriented sites doesn’t make me unusual. Sheesh man…the web is for everyone – not just fancy CSS designers/coders. 🙂
Root, you sure about that standards issue? Konqueror is my principal control browser (ok, my only one, unless I can bring myself to log out of Linux). For the moment, if everything’s correctly designed, Konqueror will eat it. OK, except for alpha transparency, but this is relatively minor. The “advantage” of Konqueror is that it is much less forgiving of little errors than Firefox. Thus “control browser’.
Plus, it’s a nice file manager, windows split lenghtwise, across, whatever — makes ftp pseudo-between two remote sites a pleasure, lightweight and scrolls so much faster on fixed backgrounds 🙂
So while it isn’t for my usual surfing, a Konqueror window is always open somewhere on one of my desktops.
Yeah! You tell him, serendipity! 🙂
Konqueror is awesome. I love it. And whether or not some people like it, I’d love to see the bookmarklet finally work with it. It would be nice. 🙂
Well it must have improved mightily since I last dealt with the brute. 🙂 But its offspring Safari – well – just don’t get me going on this. BTW: If you are upgrading to FF.93 please be very careful. I have had one or two err issues last night.
