   Last night I got the following error:

   XML-RPC Error:-32300:transport error - HTTP status code was not 200

   At first I could not even get into admin, but after a while at least I got in. But it is very slow at the moment, and I have not been able to find out what it causing it.

   I did not make any changes prior to the message appearing, at least not as I can recall.

   Any idea what might be causing this? And any recommendation as to how to proceed? Should I reinstall Wordpress, and sequantially introduce plugins and such?

   You're having a plugin conflict. The WordPress Version Check plugin for sure produces that error.
   Deactivate all plugins and reactivate one by one, testing in between.

   Problem solved. It was the version check.
