good job on this very useful plugin. Before I download, I want to know how to handle changing Default permalinks to Post Name links. I have already made the change, so it is impossible to get the old default URLs as far as I know. I am seeing about 50% 404 due to traffic to my old URLs. If I were running a commercial site, this would be an emergency.
So, can this plugin help with that problem?

I’ve got a new version about ready for release. I’m just doing some testing with it at the day job to make sure it’s stable before I push it out for general release.
To answer your question: WordPress should be doing this automatically. It seems that in some cases it doesn’t work and no one seems to know why, exactly. Unfortunately my plugin isn’t designed to handle this use-case, though it’s on my to-do list. I have heard that the plugin “Redirection” may work for the issue that you’re having. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/
