Adding extra info to catalogue/shop page items

Hello Woo Gurus!

I would like to add an extra piece of information to the product panel that appears on the main shop / category page.

This thread shows how to add the product description using a hook – I was wondering if there was a way to do something similar in order to add an extra piece of product information.

My shop sells plants, sometimes as seeds, sometimes as plug plants and sometimes in pots. And I would like to show that information on the shop page, so the item would show like this:

Thumbnail
–
Product name
–
***Product format (e.g. Pot plant)***
–
Price
–
Add to Cart

At the moment I have these different product formats set up as a product attribute. But I would be happy to enter them as a custom field if that’s easier. I just need some way of pulling that information onto the front page and the product page.
