Hi everyone, after I upgraded to 2.1, I found I cannot edit or delete the pages I created. In admin page, it just show I can view, the edit and delete words are disappeared.
However, posts are fine, at least I can edit them.
Anyone know what's the problem?
Many thanks.
Do you have any plugins installed that affect pages?
I'd start by disabling all plugins. Now can you delete a page? If so, enable one by one testing after each.

Thanks, but I just tried and seems it's not related to plugins...
Strange is the posts are OK, just can't get the pages worked.
Anything related to permission?
I wouldn't think it'd be permissions -- Pages are in the same db table as Posts.
What role is your user account? (Visit Users -> Authors & Users to check).

I'm the administrator.
It's fine before when I was using 2.05..
If you change your theme to default, can you delete a page?

I tried to add a new page today, then I found that I can't even publish that page, I can only edit but I'm the administrator.
Anyone knows how to solve? Many thanks.

jacobheisterkam:
For me, It's just the same with IE/Firefox/Maxthon.
I'm using IE 7.0 at home and 6.0 in office, Firefox 2.0 at home, all cannot show the "edit" button for
"Pages" in admin page.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading from 1.5.2 to 2.1. I described my problem in detail on my blog:
http://www.brendanloy.com/2007/02/wordpress-21-upgrade-problems.html
I also started a new support ticket, since this seems to be related to a separate problem I'm having regarding Posts, and I wanted to address both of them in the same ticket:

Not sure if this will solve your problem, but it solved mine: I tried upgrading incrementally, from 1.5.2 to 2.0 to 2.0.7 to 2.1, instead of going directly from 1.5.2 to 2.1, and I didn't have the same problems.

hmmm i have somewhat a similar problem:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/104590
looks like 2.1 has so many bugs, might have something to do with the new .js files and Ajax integration. It appears to me that 2.0.5 is the most stable version thereis

But I've already upgraded, and don't know how to downgraded to 2.06 then up to 2.07 -> 2.1. Is there any other methods??
Thanks.

I'm afraid I don't know, nicholaswong. You might want to check this thread, though.
In terms of "how to downgrade," it would depend on whether you made a backup of both your database and you WP files before you upgraded, as the upgrade instructions suggest. If you did, you could revert to the backup and then re-upgrade incrementally; that's what I did. Of course, you'd lose any comments and posts that were added to the database since the original upgrade, but if you have access to MySQL, it would be pretty easy to move those over into the re-upgraded database ... I could help you with that if needed. However, it all depends on whether you have a pre-upgrade backup.

Hi, don't know if this helps anyone, but try turning off the visual editor in your user settings. That seems to help when I've had this problem...

I'm a newbie ... I just downloaded and installed the current version this morning and I think I'm having the same problem, so it's not limited to upgrades.

All I'm having the same problem. I installed my version through Fantastico on Host Gator and cannot delete posts, pages, or comments. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm having the same problem on a 2.1.3 installation now. Seems like the Ajax magic that should be deleting the pages doesn't do anything but remove them visually from the list. The pages are there again when I refresh. I get absolutely no error messages.

Oh and just to make it clear to all those who thinks this is related to upgrading, this is a clean 2.1.2 installation, upgraded to 2.1.3. The site wasn't used much in 2.1.2, so the problem might have been introduced with 2.1.3, however, other people have had this problem since 2.1.0, so that's not very likely.
