I am bale to get a single album to show.
What I’m not having success with is showing a tree or albums.
My Smugmug is setup with Categories and multiple galleries under the categories.
Any syntax help would be appreciated.
This is the syntax for the tree:
[gallery type='smugmug' nick_name='inkontxtvisualworld' view='tree']
Have you tried it?
Yes and I do not get anything showing.
OK. It is likely that something changed in the API. I will take a look.
I am not able to get albums either. Only single album, which appears to work fine. Thanks.
How do I get to your SmugMug profile? http://inkontxtvisualworld.smugmug.com doesn’t help. I have a feeling that “inkontxtvisualworld” is not the right nick_name in your case.
Yes, that I understand, but every SmugMug user will have a nickname, which has to be passed for some requests. E.g. the “tree” requesst (http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/API/show+1.3.0?method=smugmug.users.getTree) needs the nickname, and so does the one to get all your albums. The one to get a single album needs just the album id, which is why you are able to see it. For the others your nickname isn’t being provided correctly.
To retrieve your nickname see this: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/90211-can-i-change-my-site-nickname-
Got it. Thanks.
Is there a way to show only galleries in a particular category ?
Yes you can have only s photo gallery in your blog using various WordPress plugins. These plugins will give an attractive look and feel to view your photos without any trouble. And you can make it easier to access like uploading photos, edit, delete photos and modify everything easily. You should experience one of the good WordPress photo gallery plugin.
Kristen, Thanks for the info. What I was specifically looking for is using my smugmug account. They use Categories that can have multiple Galleries. The Photonic allows me to have individual galleries fed over to my WordPress, but the inquiry was about using the Category as the Tree from which the Galleries in the Category would show as opposed to all my galleries that are on Smugmug. I’m also using NextGen, but that requires moving files. Photonic allows me to keep my photos over at Smugmug
@digisan,
I am not sure about the veracity of “Kristen” (his/her posts across this forum seem very spammy).
Regarding your query, unfortunately it is a SmugMug limitation that I cannot pull photos from a category. See http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/API/API+1.3.0. The only APIs specific to categories just gets the list of categories and not a list of associated albums or photos (http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/API/show+1.3.0?method=smugmug.categories.get). So to do what you are asking would require jumping through hoops to get the information. You happen to be the second person to have asked this query in the last few weeks, so I will give this some consideration. My basic concern is that of speed and efficiency.
