    Hello-

I am new to this, so any help would be greatly appreciated...

I have a 1&1 hosting package. It comes with WordPress blogs - and a handful of theme options. However, I have two major problems with it, that I can't solve...

    1) It will not permit me to enter the HTML for the blog's home page. (I can do it for each individual post within the blog, but not for the blog's home page.) I really want to install Google Analytics on it, but I can't without being able to do this.

    2) I would prefer a different theme than the package offers. I don't know how to download a different theme or change it, however.

Any help - particularly if there's anyone else out there who uses 1and1 - would be greatly appreciated.

Don't use the blog offered by them. It's a "mutilated" WP version and useless.
Do a manual install on your own.
Better, find a decent host - they have a very bad reputation around here.

Okay, that's not a helpful answer and I have a similar question.

I do not know html code. (I don't want to know html code.) I use the WordPress templates offered via Yahoo. At the bottom of my blog page, at the very end, a bunch of spam has appeared. They are not spam comments. Someone has put those spam links in the code somehow. If I right click on the page, I can see the code. I just don't know where to go to delete that code. Or is this something that is WordPress's problem. If so, how do I notify them?

PS - I have tried changing templates and the templates will not change. It remains the same. Something is wrong.

Okay, changed to a completely different theme and now it did change and the code is gone, so maybe the templates I was trying to use have been messed with somehow.

    MOSHU,
I use 1and1 host sucessfully for several domains and have found them quite good. WordPress manual install and updates have been easy and went well with 1and1. I also have a few domains on BlueHost...one also running WP. What have been the issues with 1and1 and WPress ??

I use 1and1 as well, but not their flavor. 1and1 offers a blog through the 1and1 control panel, that's not what I use. I load the WP package onto my server space, set up an SQL database, and I'm good to go.
