I need serious help with spam

    Somehow people (or bots most likely) have found a loop hole with all my spam blockers. THEY ARE DOING IT WITH TRACKBACKS! I have no idea how to stop it. I am getting over 200 a day, and since they arent counted as spam I have to manually delete them. Today I got over 300, and am seriously thinking of giving up my site. I cant handle it. >_<

    Thanks a heap in advance if you know of a plugin that can stop this.

    Try Akismet. It should already be in your plugins directory. You just have to turn it on.

    1. Activate Akismet. You will need to sign up for an account on WordPress.com to get the API key that it wants you to use. You don’t have to use the wordpress.com blog, just need to sign up there to get a key.

    2. Install the “Bad Behavior” plugin.

    Bad Behavior is able to detect and block something like 90% of spambots. This prevents spam from ever hitting your site at all. It’s like magic, spam just suddenly stops coming in.

    Akismet then catches the spam that does make it through.

    The combination of these 2 plugins is all the spam protection you need.
