Page templates, WP as CMS

Hiya,

I’m going to use wordpress as a CMS and I would like about 4 set templates (layouts rather than style) that my friend can use when adding pages to her website. I see that you can do category based templates, but these page layouts will appear in various categories of her site. Is there another way to have a set amount of layouts that you can choose from the admin panel when adding a page/article?
