Strip Category Base not working

    WordPress version: 3.4.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.2.8.7

    Was already running the WordPress SEO plugin for a while, has been working great. Now, I thought it would be a wise idea to have the category stripped from the url, so the links would be holidaypark.com/name-of-house instead of holiday park.com/accommodation/name-of-house. However, when I check the option: “Strip the category base”, simply nothing happens. I have already gone to the main settings of Permalink and pressed update to refresh it, but no help.
