• Help! I am using WooCommerce for the first time and LOVE the ease of use and look. However, all my test orders go straight to Pending status and no emails are sent to Admin or Shopper. Also, I can’t even manually change the status of the order. I have spent 3 days searching for ansers and have tried the few suggestions I have found but to no avail. The website I am working on is . http://108.179.221.22/~ellybean/
I really appreciate any assistance on this. I’d love the site to go live soon. πŸ™‚

I am just bumping this up as it has been 4 days and countless hours of not being able to resolve this issue and I am at a loss. It could very well just be something simple and my lack of experience with WooCommerce, but I could really use some assistance.

I am having the same issue but I am using the Cardsave payment gateway.

Any help (unlikely form the developers) will be greatly appreciated.

rikardo, have you tried disabling and re-activating the woocommerce plugin? That did it for me and it’s been working great! Sometimes we overlook the simplest things while trying to fix the most difficult first! Haha! I totally did not follow my number 1 rule…start with the plugin first! hehe!

    miracon,

As a web developer I should really follow that golden rule! haha

I have re-activated the plugin and will wait for any results

rikardo, I did the exact same thing! I spent days banging my head against the wall on this issue and then realized I hadn’t tried to reactivate the plugin. As soon as I did, it worked like a charm! Sometimes we don’t think it could possibly be that simple so overlook it altogether! I don’t ever let myself live that one down! Hehe! I hope it works for you too! Let me know! πŸ™‚

    Miracon,

I have disabled the plugin and still no success.
    Any other ideas?

I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year

    Miracon and others,

I ran into the same problem – sounds like lots of Woocommerce users are too – lots of questions in support forums. I tried disabling/reactivating but didn’t work.

What did work is installing & configuring a plugin for sending all WordPress emails via SMTP. I used WP-Mail-SMTP by Callum Macdonald. You’ll need to configure your SMTP settings based on the outgoing email address you want to use.

    Hope that helps

    Hi,

I am having the same problem. WP-Mail-SMTP didn’t fix mine.

I get the order confirmation email sent to me but the customer emails are not sent.

Also, the return page after payment (Paypal) has the download link on it but when clicked you get the message “invalid email address – go to home page”

Taxonomy is fine – goes to completed and order screen shows that 2 emails have been sent – but obviously they haven’t.

This is driving me crazy. I am using twentyeleven (child theme).

I have contacted Woocommerce asking if I can get support (paid) just on woocommerce (I don’t want any of their themes) so hopefully they will get back to me.

If I find a solution, I will definitely post. But if someone gets a solution before me, PLEASE post here and put a lot of us out of misery.

I want to preface this with I am older & had someone else set this up for me so I have no clue about any of this. My concern is I am seeing 3 orders pending but I have not received an email saying an order was placed so I can ship it out. Did they actually get charged on their credit card or did they change their mind & not put in the credit card info at the last minute? If I had not looked on this page, then I would not have not they came in at all. Hopefully someone can help. I also see lots of updates that have not been done, should I just automatically do that?

so I also had this issue with a client of mine.

I don’t know if it’s the same case as you guys, but I did a test order on my credit card and the order went through, billed to paypal and forwarded a receipt to the buyer and purchaser.

We realized that you can add items to the cart, go through with the order (add billing address) but then decide not to log in to paypal to pay, the site will register this as an order that is pending but won’t send a receipt via email since the order was not fully completed and is waiting for a sort of payment…

hopefully that’s all there is to it.

    * also my client reimbursed me and the status of my order automatically switched to refund. So that means that should the purchaser decide to pay, in theory, it should switch from pending to processing/completed

    @lorah

Does it set the order as pending if you pay with “COD” payment type. I’m trying to fix this on my end, so I just used “COD”. Maybe this whole time its because its not a real payment type?

    we are only using paypal.

keep in mind I’m not a developer for this plugin, so I’m not completely sure but I think if you set it to “COD” the system is waiting for you to manually change the order status once you receive payment. (as in the cash will be given to you by hand or by mail)
Like perhaps in the COD mode it’s a lot less automated and relying on you to confirm the order and the payment to change the status (COD payment as in cash or cheque?) That’s my logical explanation…

Also a real client ordered on our site from Australia last night around 9pm (we’re in Canada). We saw his order on our dashboard but did not receive an email confirmation or payment in our paypal account. We only received the payment late this afternoon, so there was a bit of a lag there.

I’ve contacted WooCommerce multiple times on this issue now. They don’t seem to have an answer.

I have switched from COD to PayPal and placed an order, I got PayPal’s order confirmation, but WooCommerce order confirmation was never sent and I didn’t hit my postfix server. So, it still isn’t hitting the email process on a successful order.

WooCommerce…any ideas? I’ve tried your WP-SMTP suggestion nothing works. Is there a way to reset the entire WooCommerce database values or completely uninstall the plugin? I’m thinking maybe there is a database value causing this or a post meta problem?

    I have the same problem.

    Using the Artificer theme.
    Latest version of WooCommerce 2.0.13

    NOT running any caching plugins.

    I’ve encountered the following problems.

    1) Orders placed EITHER through PayPal or Cash on Delivery
    get stuck in Pending status.

    2) No email notifications sent to purchaser or admins, even when the status is manually advanced to processing/complete.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED in this plugin.

A heads up for anyone selling digital goods and using the Sandbox

I’ve had a couple of days of the sandbox not working, orders stuck in pending, emails not being sent, bashing my head against a brick wall – it might be that PayPal is going through major maintenance – see:

    and specifically

At the bottom of the page is a link for contacting technical support, with a reference number to the issue. Not had a reply yet, but it’s only been 12 hours since I asked them. Crossed fingers that’s all it is.
