• Hi there 🙂

I’m having issues using social media sites with my wordpress site. I can’t pin images onto pinterest from my site. If I use the pinterest bookmarklet, I can choose an image, put in the description, and choose which board to pin it to, but once I press “Pin It” and it appears to be loading, the image goes black and everything I’ve written in to the description goes blank. No error message of any kind, it just doesn’t work. If I use the Pin It button on the share section beneath my posts, no images show up.

At first, I thought that this was a pinterest problem, but I’m also having issues with facebook. When I try to share a page on facebook, no thumbnails are generated.

    Any ideas

  • Have you tried using Facebook Open Graph Plugin?

What’s the URL for your site?

No I haven’t used that plugin. Do I need to use it for facebook? Sorry, I thought that that was automatic…

Open graph meta tags, what facebook and I’m assuming pintrest use to determine which images to display with a post, among other things, are not included by default. That said, many themes input them by default, and it appears you do have them on your site. You can view them by opening the page source and searching for “og:”. Which posts specifically weren’t showing up properly in facebook or pintrest?

So far, I haven’t been able to pin any images at all. None of the pages I’ve tried linking to in facebook work either. I’m not sure if this is related, but my gravatar doesn’t show up on the site either (in comments.)

Also, I’m not sure if this is weird or not, but once I’ve tried to pin an image, the website url in my address bar (in the window I’m trying to pic from) has /# added to the end of it.

Does anyone else have any ideas? I will ask my theme creator for my site if he has any knowledge on the issue, but I am really at a loss for what to do as Pinterest have not responded to my help request..

    Thanks for your time
