• Sorry if this question is too ridiculous.

With WP 2.1, does anybody know how to make it spellcheck automatically?

IE you now have built-in spellcheck abilities. It will spellcheck inline, but it wants you to click on spellchecker every time you write a post. Can that not just stay on?

    Anybody know?

  • I don’t think you can get WP to inline spell check, although if you use Firefox 2 it’s not an issue.

This plugin will re-enable the automatic inline spell checking if you use Firefox 2:

Dunno about IE7. I don’t use it myself.

Ah, that was the problem. I knew it turned off my firefox inline spell check, but it must somehow turn it back on when you click on the spellcheck button. Or something. Because I get inline spellcheck after I tell it to check the spelling.

Firefox’s built-in spellcheck function is a bit weak, since it can be turned off so easily, and it doesn’t work in all cases. I’ve complained about that to the devs and on their forums, but no one seems to care since it works right most of the time for most people.

    Thanks!
