I have got a website that was developed with the index.php being a place holder, and the actual front page was named homebox.html. What do I change and where do I change the info so when sometime types for example shabsheep.com they go to the shabsheep.com/homebox.html as the index page?? Any help would be great..this is driving me crazy! 🙂

  • I think you’re going about this wrong. What you need to do is create a new Page within WordPress, add what content you want to the Page, then change your Reading settings to make that page the homepage.

    For info on Pages: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages

Once you’ve create your page, go to Settings -> Reading in your admin panel. Next to “Front page displays” select “A static page” then select the page you created.

This was created for me, and I was not made aware until another creator had made this page..I just need it to redirect to this new made page, but let me look at what you have sent! Otherwise I may be in deep doo doo if I cant open this page back up! AUGH!
