@hotconductor,
The arteatables.com issue is because the mail sending is reporting failure at some point. There are many reasons why this might be the case but all are essentially down to policies on the sending server that you are not meeting so your email is being rejected. Make sure you are using the correct email address for sending and maybe speak to the hosting provider to see if they can provide a specific reason why the emails are rejected.
The hatfieldmedia.com message is not an error message as such, it’s a user message advising you that you are trying to register as a public subscriber on a blog where you are already a registered user. The message is therefore prompting you to log in and even links through to the correct page in order to log in with your password.
I will check on the arteatables site. Have a feeling I know the issue..
On the hatfieldmedia site, that error is achieved consistently across all browsers/computers and using any email address. It always says please login. This is using email addresses not in use on the site, in incognito windows, laptops that are not logged in, so forth. The error is consistent.
How can I go back to the old subscribe2 format where you could simply put your email address in, hit submit, and be done. No ‘registering’ or ‘login’ required.
@hotconductor,
I’ve just been to your site (hatfieldmedia) and entered my email and it worked fine, I got a message telling me an email was on the way – no message asking for login. As I said above, I think you are seeing this message as you are trying to subscribe an email address that is already know to your blog.
Mattyrob, you are correct. I just tried it again and it successfully added another email address. Apparently one of my workers already added a brand new email address to the list.
I have a separate issue that I will start a new thread to solve. The other site I have resolved the email issue.
Thank you for your help!
@hotconductor,
Glad things are working. Happy to help further on other issues if needed.
