Are you actually doing this using the ‘Featured Image’ box on the right sidebar?
I noticed that the featured image, and the media uploader seem to have been seperated out – leads me to believe this is intentional.
Yes. When I tried the ‘Featured Image” box on the right sidebar, a featured image does not appear either in the box or in the theme. When I use the legacy media uploader, it provides the option to use an image as featured — and when an image is selected — the “Featured Image” on the right sidebar is filled-in.
Hm. The uploader was different on build 22352. It all worked fine for featured images.
and on 22455 (I just updated to test) I do not see any way to actually set a featured image – but, the uploader is still labelled as Beta, and has changed on each update, hopefully still being worked on!
I’d just like to mention the same bug in 22455 – there is simply no option to add Featured image through Beta Media dialogue – hope it’ll be resolved soon.
The featured images meta box was temporarily broken as we shuffled around a few of the media pieces. Sorry about that!
As of [22496], the featured images meta box should be running smoothly. Until a nightly is pushed, you’ll need SCRIPT_DEBUG turned on to test it.
@daryl, thank you for the explanation, going to test 🙂
yea neither button (Add Media & Featuted Image) dont work for us either
Which browser and OS are you using?
Chrome and OS 10.7. But the latest beta (2.5xxx) cured the problem. I love the media uploader now. Can’t wait to turn 3.5 loose on my live site.
