    Hi Guys,
As you can see from the site below I have been hacked:

What is the best way to go about removing the "You have been hacked" banners without losing my existing posts?

    Cheers,
    Dan

.. like the one in the sidebar?

if thats part of yur links list from the backend, delete it there. It might be hardcoded into the file, in which case you'll need to edit that as well.

you will want to change your admin password, and it would be prudent to change other passwords as well, mysql especially, since if you left any files writable, they could have edited one via the admin area, done an include that would have spit out the info inside wp-config.php and voila they have your mysql info.

The banners, I saw only 1, have nothing to do with your actual posts, however if I missed them and they appear to be linked to posts, or are actually unique posts its pretty straightforward, edit the posts, or delete them.

lastly, upgrade. 2.1 is NOT required, there IS a 2.07 upgrade that you could have done that would have probably prevented this, but that said -- its still here, and waiting .. :)

Ignore the 1st post, I've sorted it out.

They had changed the General category to their Hacking image, I edited the category and it's back to normal now.

I'm now off to install the latest version!

    Thanks.
