Support » Fixing WordPress » 2.1 – visual panel to write post differs from ie to FireFox

  • Hi, folks.

I updated to 2.1 and everything seems righ, except…

At IE 6.0 visual panel is full.
But at Firefox 2.0 the same panel doesn’t show thumbnails like unordered list, ordered list, insert image, etc.

At FF only show: bold, italic, split, spellchecker and help.

    I hope to be useful.

  • Yes, I came across the same issue using Firefox on a Macbook

After I upgraded to WP 2.1 the Tiny MCE/Visual editor menu panel in Firefox 2.0 is missing several options.

Using IE 7 and Firefox 2.0 on a Windows XP machine it all appears fine.

I got the same problem like Cohen IE 6 full while FF2 bold/Italic/Split/Spell Checker and help

Those buttons appear for me in Firefox 2.0 on two different machines. Could it be a JavaScript issue or something on your end?

I just found something strange I got two blogs on different serves , one is working just fine in FF2 with buttons are there
the other one is the one I was complaining about above , appears fine in IE6 but not in FF2 !!

same problem here (icons missing in visual editor) with ff2 on linux.

Does it occur for anybody on Windows? If not, it wants adding to the bug tracker for OS-specific versions of Firefox.

murphy’s law: as soon as you post on the support forum, it works fine 🙂

the icons appeared correctly after i activated this firefox extension in the hope to get some details on possible javascript errors:
    http://www.getfirebug.com/

magically no errors displayed in the console… and the icons were there!

[moved to How-To – from “advanced”… there is nothing advanced in this, it’s a simple browser version specific issue]
