After a pain free upgrade today, suddenly the page navigation for previous pages of posts and next pages of posts is gone.
This bit has always done the trick in the themes:
<div class="navigation">
<div class="alignleft"><?php next_posts_link('« Previous Entries') ?></div>
<div class="alignright"><?php previous_posts_link('Next Entries »') ?></div>
But it does not seem to matter what theme I use either...they all have the missing links. Any help would be super appreciated.

Fixed it! WP-Cache was hosing me, but disabling it and re-enabling fixed it up nice.

What did you do? Mine stopped working, too... the code is still there calling it but it isn't visible. I've cleaned out my wp cache (deleted it all) but still no prev/next links. Just curious what you did exactly do correct this? Thanks.
My navigation links no longer work either. They appear but they simply show the home page.

I was having this problem as well and found on another post that Akismet was causing it. I disabled the plugin and now my "Previous | Next" links are back.

I had the problem too. Turning off the "sticky posts" plugin fixed it.

Seems like the most of you solve it disabling plug ins - but my problem remains even with no pluggs activated... WP 2.1.3
I had the same problem after upgrading from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3, but risolved when i uninstalled adhesive plugin.
Mine next-previous page buttons returned when I deleted Download WordPress Sticky Post Plugin Works fine now...
