Safari can’t open the page “http://www.thecanadiangeek.ca/wp-admin/upgrade.php”. The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

I received similar error messages in other browsers. My web host meets the server requirements and I deleted all of my files before uploading WP 2.1…

Any ideas what could be the problem?

  • I’d contact the host once, seems to me that they might be doing some server maintenance or something..? Notice the error message:

“The error was: “lost network connection””

Yes, but I am able to open other pages. “upgrade.php” is the only page that would not open.

Maybe try deleting the upgrade.php file from the wp-admin folder, then reupload it again fresh?

That’s usually a sign of low php memory. If you know how to do it – bump it from 4M to 16M or 20M. Should cure your problems.
If you don’t know how, request it from your host. Almost all will comply.

Good catch Samboll.. I’ll have to remember this for another time! ;):)
