• I would love to know how to remove or at least change these link headings. I am slowly wrapping my head around all of this, and I am computer savvy, but this is my first jump into any designing or “coding”. My site is still raw and I haven’t told too many people about it yet since the design needs to get tightened up. I found an old article dealing with this but it didn’t seem to be applicable for the newest version (the article was almost 4 years old). If anyone at least has some links they could pass on, it would be HUGELY appreciated. I am sure that these are just the first of many questions, so if you have some great resources regarding “designing with WordPress for dummies”, pass those on too (even if they don’t directly relate to my initial question!) Thanks.

  • Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

    Oops. I told you I am new…….
    Here it is

There are 2 “meta” links, I suppose I want to keep one, but I just want to learn how to edit any that stuff anyway. Thanks!!

Have you tried looking in Appearance -> Widgets?

I have, but there is only one “meta” area and there are no widgets installed yet, apparently. What would I be looking for?

Try looking for a Meta widget added to the sidebar. If you cannot find one, try adding it and adding your own title.

Ok, the meta widget IS there, I guess. But it does not have any titles filled in. So why do I have titles on the page at all?

    (@richinmusic)

Ok, I think I have moved 1, but now how can I edit the links in the second “meta” category (the first will be gone soon, I am sure the site just needs to refresh). The what about that piece near the top that says “uncategrized”?

Has the Meta widget been added to the sidebar?

There already was a meta widget, so I removed it. I should add it back?

I think the site needs to refresh. When I view it while logged in, the one meta category is gone, but not when I check on a different browser. Now there is just the one to the lower right, with 3 links in it. I am trying to edit that, but don’t know where that is….. And am trying to remove or at least change where it says near the top “uncategarized”.

    I should add it back?

Yes – and give it your own title to suit your needs.

am trying to remove or at least change where it says near the top “uncategarized”.

    Try renaming your Uncategorized category.

I can’t remove it? It seems redundant, I have a menu bar at the very top. Or is this due to my theme choice?

I tried renaming the Uncategorized heading, and it still remains. If I click it, it says page is not found, but then on that error page, the new name appears. But if I go back to the main page, the word “uncategorized” is still there.

I guess what i really want is to remove that whole bar that has the “home” and “uncategroized” headings. I don’t need it and can’t seem to get rid of it.
