  • I have recently decided to start a blog for my company. While I have some (limited) html and css experience I am finding it difficult, whenver I make changes to the style sheets and update the changes it doesn’t post. Its been a full 24 hours since I made some very small changes and none of them have posted.(like a different background color) Is this because of the default templates they offer or am I making mistakes? (I am leaning towards user erro) I have also been reading threads about the install4free WP offers. I know that this is technically a “business related” blog, however, I am using this as an opportunity to communicate the direction of my company a great ideas for recipies that I have experineced over the years. Is there a way for me to have someone else set this up before it becomes a further disaster or becuase I am a business owner I will need to pay for someone to do it?

  • How are you making the changes? Are you using the theme editor in the admin panel? Or are you making the changes offline, saving the files, and then uploading them through FTP into the theme folder?

I am making them using the theme editor.

If this is a yahoo hosted install you will never be happy with it. Those are the most screwed up folks I’ve ever run across. In fact, I won’t do yahoo installs any more.

Saying that you might try a hard refresh on your browser at your site. Sounds like it’s cacheing.
Ctrl + F5 at the same time on your keyboard.

Yahoo protects it’s business clients when they send spam as well.

Sounds like something’s being cached. Who’s your own personal ISP?

My ISP is msn, I tried the Ctrl F5 … nothing happened

I’ve never used Yahoo for my WP, so I probably have no clue what I’m talking about, but don’t make the changes in the theme editor. Make the changes in the files themselves, and then upload them and overwrite the existing files for the theme.

I’ve had times where I tried editing a theme in the theme editor in the admin panel and nothing happened, so I always edit the files themselves, and upload and overwrite. Works every time that way.

Aloha, where do you go to edit the theme files themselves? I, too, have tried to edit the theme files in the theme editor and no luck. Thank you for your help.

Edit them on your on computer in a plain text editor (= not Word!). It’s safer on long term.
    Then upload them via ftp.
