  • I run the site http://www.musicyouneed.net, and I originally registered my domain through wordpress.com. I now use wordpress.org obviously, and am attempting to change my hosting to VPS, getting away from godaddy. WordPress.com registered my domain with wildwestdomains, and I don’t know how to access my information. This is what I need:

“You need to be able to change the DNS records for the domain name. So, effectively you need the account information for whatever allows you to do that now. In my understanding, that would be the account info for WildWest… that seems to be where you’d manage the nameservers for the domain.

If you tell them that’s what you need, they should be able to help you. You can just honestly be like “past that, idk… I just need access to the DNS manager to change the nameservers for the domain.””

So if someone could tell me how to change those records or who I need to contact, that would be fantastic. Please help me asap as my site really needs this upgrade now! Thank you very much!

  • I would check with the wordpress.com support teams. I would of assumed that they gave you some type of information about your domain name you hosted as they are not the party that is a registrar. I can’t see why they would not give you information.

I would start with the people that set it up. .ORG is a bit different group and you may be waiting for a answer here as your issue is not really their interest.

Maybe someone else here might know from past experiences, but this is not the first place i would of asked
