Like button not showing on posts

    Strange brew happening these days. I have the “Like” button checked with the option to show on all posts, but it’s not showing unless I am logged into Facebook. Kinda defeats the purpose of people liking when they don’t see the like button, unless they are logged into Facebook.

    Also, the count for the like button on my home page, using the like button in a sidebar widget, is showing 0 counts. When it’s applied to the page, and not as a widget, the count number shows correctly. This tells me that the widget isn’t applying to the correct page, but sees itself in a separate page, as in the ‘sidebar page.’ Of course this needs to be corrected, since the sidebar is no page at all.

    By default the Like button uses the document.URL of the page, or the og:url if present. Is it possible your homepage displays a Like button for a static page instead of the site home? The Like button may have a data-href attribute.

    Well, it’s in the sidebar of the twenty-eleven theme. That may constitute a different page. That’s my guess anyway.

    sidebar of Twenty Eleven is output in the same document as the main column. Could you please provide a sample URL where you have observed this issue?

    The like button on the home page has a number in it, but if I enable the like button for the sidebar, it will read 0 on the same page (or t least not match the home like button number).

    I can only take a look at what’s currently on the page; the one Like button on that page works well.

    Got it. The Widget was using the absolute path and not the site name. I changed that and now it works. Thanks.
