.htaccess and permalinks

    Hello,

    I use 301 redirect codes in my .htaccess file and my question is: should they (301 redirect statements) go after or before WordPress mod_rewrite rules?

    If the redirects and mod rewrite rules are independent of each other, the order in your .htaccess file should not matter.

    If they are not independent, I am not sure they will work at all.
