    HELP!

    “Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at shahw1.ipagemysql.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

This error message is pretty self-explanatory. Your web server cannot connect to your database server. There’s a couple of reasons that could cause this. if it’s a permanant error then you have got the wrong database connection details in your wp-config.php file. if it’s intermittent then it means that your hosting company can’t keep their servers talking to each other and you will need to talk to them to let them know and hope that they can fix the problem.

    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

This normally happens when something is not quite right with your .htaccess file. Fixing this is as easy as re-generating the file, so I’d suggest trying that first. In your admin area, change your permalink structure to “Default” and save it, then change it back to how you have it now and save it again. That will regenerate the file and anything that was wrong in it will be gone.

you can also use error logs on your server to get more specific details about what caused the 500 error. Contacting your host is a good idea if you are unsure how to do this. Also for the database error…

Thanks guys. I did as suggested Michael, but honestly, my host keep telling my it’s not their issue!! I’ve had this for ages now. Even the images vanish, then turn up again. Infuriating. Anyway I did the thing with default then save and replace with mine again, see what that does.

Alvaw – I went to the link and almost cried – I’m not coder and the idea of messing around with it all makes me want to hide in a dark cupboard! Isn;t this why I paid for my theme/for hosting? To get support? Groan. Anyway, cheers guys. X
