Support » Plugin: Event Calendar » Calendar had been displayingon page, but not now.

  • I’ve had the calendar plugin installed and it has been working for almost 3 to 4 weeks without any apparent issues. Although it has been a week since the last time that I went to the calendar page, I had taken it for granted the calendar was working. I went to the page and saw that it wasn’t being displayed anymore. At first, I thought the lack of a calendar might be because I didn’t have any upcoming events scheduled, so I created and updated a test event. The calendar still wasn’t being displayed, but the event itself did show up on a list. I’m not sure why it was working flawlessly but now it will not.

I forgot to add that I disabled my other plugins to see if there could be some sort of conflict, but there didn’t appear to be any improvement to my situation. One very tiny bit of positive news is the calendar does appear to work within the mobile version of the site.

Same problem as jbarrington. Using latest WP/BP with Multisite On. Dunno if working or not on mobile… Back-end works great.. enter/edit events… front end? Nothing happens except the SHOW TYPE ALL-EVENT-DEADLINE-VOLUNTEER line…

@akamai4hire. I finally gave up on hearing a support reply or seeing an update from the creator of this plugin.

I went ahead and searched for another calendar plugin and found, “All-in-One Event Calendar by Timely.” I like it and it works very well with the latest version of WP, and in some ways, looks a little nicer. I don’t know if it would fit your needs or not, but I thought that I would pass it forward to you to check it out. Let me know if you like it as well. 🙂

I’ve noticed the same thing myself today. I have the filters showing but the calendar is gone.

Any other calendar solutions besides the one mentioned above?

In hindsight, I did wonder if it might be a particular PC browser issue, since I was able to see the working calendar within a mobile browser of my droid phone. I typically use Firefox on my PC, but I never thought about looking to see if it might work properly within another PC browser (Chrome or IE).

I deactivated and deleted the calendar plugin when I gave up on support and found and installed “All-in-One Event Calendar by Timely” plugin. If one of you haven’t uninstalled the calendar yet, perhaps try looking to see if it works within another PC browser and report back here with the results. Who knows, it might help the developer if he or she is still reading the support posts, and still taking care of this plugin.

Apologies to the developer if they read this. My comments weren’t meant as any sort of sarcasm or anything, and I hope it wasn’t taken as such. I just needed to get a calendar page back up and running again.

The same thing happened to me. The calendar disappeared after someone updated my theme, so I attributed it to that. Spoke with theme developer, however he said plug-in was working on his end, and he wasn’t sure what the problem was on my end. I did try viewing my website using a different browser but it made no difference. I guess I will look into the other plug-in mentioned above unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Same problem here with a fresh install. Guess it hasn’t been fixed in 3 months I can’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon. hmmm time to find a new calendar.

I quit holding my breath and went over to the mycalendar plugin. It’s really good with much better control over user access which was kinda missing from this one. i guess the author here got sick or found a job or something…

Wow, I thought the problem is recent, now I read that it is months old – to me, that is inexcusable! I was going to wait until I realized that a fix was not coming!

I must say, however that this has been a super plugin and has done about 95%+ of what I want, but if it won’t display, I can’t wait.

I just updated the plugin and and wordpress and now I am getting the same results. I can see the filters but that is it.

I also disabled all my other plugins with the same result. Must be some bug with the new update?

I deactivated Ajax. Updated the Ajax. Activated it. And then started hitting refresh out of frustration. All of a sudden everything came back. It’s not a very advanced way of doing things… but maybe give it a try?

The real problem is not so much that the plugin stopped working, but rather that the author stopped responding. I hope he’s ok and making too much money to bother with us 🙂

I can’t wait for a comprehensive fix, so I’ve moved on to All-in-One Event Calendar and it seems to work pretty well. Give it a try.
