10 Second Initial Load (7 posts)

I'm running three different websites from my server at my house all on the latest version of WordPress. For a while, it has been taking about 10.5 seconds to load initially, then, for a while, it will load the pages in less than a second. I'm not sure what is causing this! I have one line of code in my .htaccess file:
    DirectoryIndex index.php index.html
I have tried deactivating plugins, tested MySQL speeds, set the website back to the default theme........ Not much left for me to try! Here's the 3 websites on my server:

    http://www.outerstudios.com
    http://www.diannthompson.com

If you have any advice, please tell me!!

    Create a tiny http://php.about.com/od/learnphp/qt/hello_world.htm
    on your server

Access that in browser when site is slow; if HELLO is slow; then your host is slow AT THAT POINT IN TIME.

Thanks for your response... but neither of them are slow. You can check it out yourself at: http://www.funkystudios.com/world.php. I'm not sure what this means...
