0.9.9.5 broke website
-
Latest update has broken my website
appears to be an issue with the SendPress signup widget. It and everything afterwards won’t display on the page. Remove it from the active widgets and the site all comes back again
Rolling back to 0.9.9.3 works

That is strange. Would you also be able to provide some screenshots of the widget settings? There was also another post in the forum where someone else had issues with the widget. I’ll see if I can find the link and post it here.
Here is the link to the other forum post. Take a look at my suggestion there and let me know if that helps.

That fix may work, but something broke in the upgrade as the previous version worked.
here’s the debug information of the version that is working – sorry, I’m not putting up the bugged version

Not sure how I’m going to get a screen shot here as there doesn’t appear to be anywhere to upload a file
I’ll try and get a test site up and see if the fix listed above works – however, as I said, they update is broken
OK, I’ve got my website up on a test server. Upgrading to 0.9.9.5 causes the subscribe widget to break. It and everything after it is not displayed.
The settings for the widget are the same for both 0.9.9.3 and 0.9.9.5
On the settings/advanced page, the Table Info box shows “Tables Installed” and then nothing even though the sendpress tables show up in phpMyAdmin
on the Help page the “Recent blog posts” is missing completely, the shortcode cheat sheet only shows the titles “Get Recent posts”, “Signup” and “Unsubscribe Form”. Clicking on them does nothing
Here’s the debug info

looks like there’s a mega serious problem here
Disabling signup form ajax does nothing.
We have had a few reports of widget issues like I said before. Since you have it set up on a test server and you are experiencing the same problem, is there any chance that you could email us credentials so we can login and take a look. I’m betting that if we fix it for your site, it will fix it for others as well. You can email me at Doug at sendpress dot com. Please don’t post any login information in the forum.
Latest version of sendpress is still broken with the same problem. Can’t let you access my test server, sorry
We are still looking into the issue, but we have not been able to re-create locally, which is making it difficult to fix. If you ever get a place where we can login to see what is happening, I think we could probably fix it pretty quickly.
Just out of curiosity, have you tried the newest version of the plug-in with a different theme, such as 2012 or 2013? There’s a good chance that it could be theme related.
I am having this problem too.
The simple explanation is that the signup widget doesn’t work well with any other widgets in a sidebar.
Another more complex security topic is that one site that I use sendpress on http://evolverindy.org that was using 0.9.9.3 started having spam traffic using sendpress to send out spam to email address.
I can forward Mail Delivery Reports that I received after my list address was used to spam or send to non list addresses.
When I viewed the html rendered of the emails that the mail delivery reports referenced, I found the Sendpress template, complete with my organizational address in it. YIKES!
I have upgraded and disabled Sendpress until the security vulnerability is fixed.
Please let me know if there is any additional information that you would require.
Hi BroadRippleUnlimited,
How was SendPress used to send out spam? could you send the report to josh@sendpress.com. We have not see this anywhere else and with how sending works i am not sure how it would be possible.
Any info you could provide would be helpful.
Best,
JoshI believe i found the widget issue it has to do with ob_start(); being in the wrong place for the signup widget. I have fixed this and will have it in the next release. This should be out sometime tonight.
Best,
JoshThanks Josh, I just forward one of 4 or 5 Mail Delivery Reports.
This is a great plugin, thank you for looking into this.
I got your email that the latest release fixed your widget issue. Thanks for letting us know and for your patience.
Josh said he responded via email.
I’m going to go ahead and resolve this topic.
