Upgrading to 2.8.1 fixes this problem. Just to be safe I deleted the old files and uploaded the new manually.

Cheers,

Thanks! I noticed as well when going to the Permalinks page on WP Dashboard/Admin I still can see the errors I posted before. :(

It just gets annoying to have this messages, even if the update/delete was done successfully.

I also tried the update from WP Dashboard/Admin, but the errors remain :(

I am experiencing the same problem. I did an upgrade first but my upgrade did not work so I installed a fresh wordpress 2.8.

Everytime I try to update or delete a page/post I get

Warning: is_writable() [function.is-writable]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/xxx:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/xxx/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 128

when I go back to managing the post or page I can see that the post/page I deleted/updated was successfully deleted/updated.

how do we fix this problem?

k, hmm... thanks for trying.

do this, if you havent already -- rule out the really obvious things:

upload fresh 2.8 files -- outside of the auto - upgrader, know what I mean.

are your plugins all still disabled? if not, do, then to put the stake through the chest and rename the plugins directory.

also, who's your host?

Hi folks,

I just upgraded to 2.8, and whenever I update pages I get multiple errors. I used the automatic upgrade tool with no plugins active and this still happens with all plugins deactivated.
