@dartiss
That's a known issue with wp 2.8.
See the author's plugin page: http://rick.jinlabs.com/code/lastfm/
and the ticket he opened at http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/10163

Rename your wp-contents/plugins folder.
Try going to Tools->Upgrade->Re-install Automatically
If that doesn't work, try redoing Steps 7 and 8 of Upgrading WordPress Extended.

Deactivated all plugins EXCEPT the Last.FM one and it still came up with the same error.

I've toggled the last.fm plugin and the gzinflate error continues. I've left it deactivated until we find a fix.

Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Also see:

I'm getting the known issue where the error...

Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in...

is appearing against plugins. In my case it only appears to affect one - Last.FM for WordPress. I've followed the instructions of a manual upgrade of 2.8 with all plugins switched off but, nope, I'm still getting the error.

Anybody know what the fix for this is if the re-install doesn't work?
