Thank you. Obviously, I just didn't get the Add New and Add Existing. Is there a distinction between viewing a PDF and downloading it. I suppose to the site they are one and the same.

Thanks again, Rex

Hi there,

On your server you should have wp-content/uploads and this folder needs to be writable. If you can insert images into posts using the built in editor then it will be set up correctly so don't worry about it. If you can't then youll need an FTP client to change the folder permissions.

TO begin tracking hits, go to the admin interface for downloads, add existing, then enter the URL of the individual PDF. The download will be given an ID, then you use the shortcode to insert a special link into your posts. E.g.
[download id="1"]

I just loaded it. I have a folder with PDF files in it, that I want to track. I know this is stupid but... Do I have to give the location of the PDF folder? What, if any configuration is necessary? What does this mean - Ensure the /wp-content/uploads directory exists and has correct permissions to allow the script to upload files??? Is this necessary to monitor downloads? If so, I will have to figure out how to open the permissions.

Blog address: http://hopefaithprayer.com/

One PDF address: http://hopefaithprayer.com/books/Divine%20Healing%20-%20Andrew%20Murray.pdf

Thank you for the help. This plugin is wonderful!
