I couldn't find any information on my question here or elsewhere.

I am not quite sure how to setup everything properly.

Where it says:

Look at your single post template file in your blog theme (usually single.php) and find every div tag that is opened (<div>) but not closed (</div>) before the following piece of code:

Does that mean that I

only add the div tags and leave all php code out?

add all the code before and after, excluding the content and side bar code?

add all the code before and after, including content and side bar code?

Sorry if that sounds stupid but as a user without any development background it is not obvious to me.
