Thank you, this is what I was looking for. This is helpful if you're trying to place audio files onto a page vs. a post.

Here's the solution... found right after I made the above post, and having search for 2 hours for an alternative... and it's simple!

The Podcasting plugin allows you to embed MP3's into an identical flash player just like that used by the Audio Player plugin. By using the tags:

[podcast]full-path-to-mp3-file[/podcast]

This should not feed the file to iTunes with your regular podcasts if you don't include the enclosure in your post.

So now I can deactivate the Audio Player plugin.

I'm using the latest release of Wordpress (2.7) the podcasting plugin (2.0b15) and Audio Player plugin (2.0b6) amongst others.

There is a definite conflict between these two however, when the Podcasting plugin is deactivated the Audio Player works fine. With Podcasting also active the following errors occur with the Audio Player:

1) Upon clicking the play icon there is no audio, and the message "File not found" appears in the audio timeline.

2) The player returns to the default colour settings, regardless of any custom settings made under the "Display" tab under settings.

I really need both of these, so if anyone knows why this is happening please let me know. There was another poster with the same problem here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/179225/page/12?replies=363#post-942953

Thanks.. Justin.
