<description>&#60;p&#62;Thanks for your suggestion. It put me on the right track and I discovered that my theme prefaced the titles with the code that creates the &#38;gt;&#38;gt; symbol. I deleted the code and now have things like I like them! There's nothing like satisfaction!

&#60;p&#62;If not, then look at the &#60;code&#62;header.php&#60;/code&#62; template file for your theme.  The line starting with &#60;code&#62;&#38;lt;title&#38;gt;&#60;/code&#62; should look basically like this:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#60;code&#62;&#38;lt;title&#38;gt;&#38;lt;?php wp_title(&#38;#39;&#38;amp;laquo;&#38;#39;, true, &#38;#39;right&#38;#39;); ?&#38;gt; &#38;lt;?php bloginfo(&#38;#39;name&#38;#39;); ?&#38;gt;&#38;lt;/title&#38;gt;&#60;/code&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;(the &#60;code&#62;wp_title()&#60;/code&#62; part is what might be missing)

<description>&#60;p&#62;I recently upgraded to WP 2.7 and installed a new theme - Brandfordmagazine.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I'm pretty happy with it, so far, I have a problem with what shows up on the tab. Instead of the name of my site, beside the favicon, I only see &#38;gt;&#38;gt;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I don't know what I did to cause that to happen or how to fix it. If you have any suggestions on where to look for a problem, I would appreciate them.&#60;/p&#62;
