Deactivating the plug-in meant that I could write/change pages again. This is obvious.</p> <p>@Plugin-Author: you should implement a better error-message so that your users get to know the exact cause for this problem, so they can fix it themselves by altering the the file-attributes of /wp-content.</p> <p>After I set /wp-content chmod 777, the plugin was able to create the new folder /wp-content/<strong>widget-cache</strong>.
