Hi Kjetil,

I made this plugin for Wordpress few time ago, maybe you could test it to play your MOV panoramas http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/qtvr-viewer/

I am very happy with the plugin and I have used it on quite a few websites. The only downside is that Youtube - and maybe other types - videos don't display in Internet Explorer 6. Even though I know Youtube no longer supports IE6 and Internet Explorer 6 is a dinosaur I would still like it to work as we still have 20-27% of our visitors using this deprecated browser. Any ideas how this can be achieved?

@mikeque except, yeah, it doesn't have a media library browser, but if it did it would by FAR surpass all the other video embed plugins. This one takes youtube, your own FLV, or any URL that contains a FLV...

With you tube, for example, you give it the URL to the video... and it plays the youtube video in JW player!!!! So you don't have to have that ugly looking youtube player on your nice looking site. ;)

ProPlayer !

kjetilgf, you NEED to try this one! It's so simple yet powerful. We should all flock to this video plugin, and encourage it's development and soon it will take over! I'm going to contact the guy that made it and tell him he needs a media browser. :D

This one seems decent too:

One feature that neither of these have, and the Embedded Video did have, is the ability to browse your media library. That's a nice feature to avoid having to find the URl and paste it in. For my clients who are not so adept at these things I need it to be as simple as possible.

Hi, and sorry for the delay. The path to your copy of mediaplayer.swf returns a 500 error.

http://wiwi.wissenmachtschoen.de/wp-content/plugins/xhtml-video-embed/mediaplayer.swf

Don't know how to fix this since I don't know your server setup. The xhtml-video-embed directory contains a .htaccess file, but it only turns off the directory listing. This shouldn't break Apache unless you added your own configuration rules.

Hi,

the plug-in works fine with youtube etc.

But the embedding of a self-hosted flv-file does not work.
The path to the video is correct. The installation is (as I can see) correct.

In Firefox I get:

"If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Get Flash Player from Adobe."

But I do have the newest Flash-Player installed.

In the newest IE I can see that the "space" (width and height) for the video is correctly loaded but then nothing appears.

That's the link:

http://wiwi.wissenmachtschoen.de/?p=109

Can you please tell me what the problem is?
I could upload my video on youtube and then embed it, but sometimes I would prefer self-hosting.

Thanks a lot and best regards,
I believe this is a good choice. The only thing you might miss is a preview/splash image (to appear instead of a black playback rectangle). On my wish list.

Hi
This plugin looks very promising. I've also tried it and its very easy to use.
But - I just wonder:
Would it be possible to include Quicktime support? All our videos are in flv format now but our 360° qtvr panos are impossible to convert or play in other formats than mov.
Thanks

That was a security policy which was too restrictive, thus the "-" char from the Video ID was stripped by a regular expression. Since the v0.2.3.2 that issue has been fixed. At the moment the allowed charset for YouTube Video IDs is: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, -, _
I could make it less restrictive, but it can lead to security issues if the user is not careful about the input. You know like they say: better safe than sorry.

Regarding your xhtml video embed, just wondering if you had any instructions lying around somewhere...?

I tried it on my WP blog (not the recent edition of WP, but the previous edition) with a YouTube video in this format, but nothing shows up...

That is, I added just like that above to my normal post, not in the code part, but in the visual part. Is it supposed to be a link or..?

I went in to your plugin and enabled it and all that stuff.

Maybe some simple, how to do it instructions would be good for us non-coder types.
