You said this isn't a widget, what do you mean exactly?  I didn't install it but I looked at the code, it does create create a sidebar widget (at least it's supposed to).  Does the widget code not work when you activate it?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Also, note to author, you're using fopen, which is disabled on a lot of servers.  You may want to think about changing it to curl.
