Hi,

Looking to use multiple tree’s throughout, sometimes for unique categories; would like to find away to include; “exclude=1,”

<?php
            if (function_exists('wp_dtree_get_categories')){
                wp_dtree_get_categories();
            }else{
                wp_list_categories('show_count=1');
            }
        ?>

I thought I could add it “wp_dtree_get_categories(HERE);” but… I was wrong.

Hi,

I am trying to find out if it is at all possible to flip the tree structure of this plugin.

Right now the tree is on the left and all text is left aligned. What I want is a tree that is aligned on the right side with the tree appearing on the right side with the tree indenting to the left.

Does anyone have any ideas if/how I can achieve this? I wouldn't necessarily mind going in the code to make the necessary changes but I'd need a little help as to where to look for the actual creation of the output so I could reverse the text and icon rendering.

Thanks for any ideas and suggestions.

Guido

I believe the plugin's installation page has a number of example that should help you with the template tags:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-dtree-30/installation/

But to execute template tags in a page's or post content, you will need a php code plugin such as:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exec-php/

ulfben - is there a fix for this issue within your latest version (3.5)? My project (www.alaskaallstartours.com) is able to use this plug-in with no problems OTHER than &amp ; isn't being properly converted to a & when displayed (so I had to temporarily exclude the offending ID so that it doesn't display at all but the client really wants it there.

Hi,

I have a large number of categories (business directory) currently my site shows all parent categories and child categories (i've created a child category per business) e.g.
accountants
-an accountant ltd
-ernst & young
beautician etc

I would like only to list parent categories e.g. accountant, beautician and when you click on the category each business (child category)is shown so you could then choose which business to click on. Each child category would hold a single post.

I'm not sure if there is a way of doing it within current wp or do I need plug in?

Can anyone help?

I'had exactly the same problem. On the main page it returned an empty list, but on every other the tree worked just fine.

On the settings page, disable the option "open to selection". I'm guessing that, since there was no explicit request for a post, the plugin just doesn't open any tree.

hi!

im using wp as a cms. i use pages instead of posts, and i have 6 main pages, whereas 3 of them have subpages.
i'd like to use wp-dtree for the menu of these subpages. so there should be one tree per parent-page, that is only displayed when the parent is selected in the main menue on top of the page:

main menue:
[about] [parent1] [parent2] [parent3] [download] [link]

parent1
-p1.sub1
-p1.sub2
-p1.sub3

parent2
-p2.sub1
-p2.sub2
--p2.sub2.sub1

parent3
....

>>
if nothing is selected, no trees are displayed,
if parent1 is selcted(clicked) the tree for parent1 is displayed
and if parent2 or parent3 are selcted their tree but no other is displayed!

how could i do that?
i can code php okay - but i dont know where to start.
please gimme hint!!

Installed dTree tonight and it's working great exactly what I needed.

The only problem is that the Pages widget is empty when on the blogs homepage. On any other page it works perfectly but on the homepage the widget is empty.

I examined the contents that was generated and it is complaining about

Empty substring in <b>/plugins/wp-dtree-30/wp-dtree_gen-functions.php</b> on line <b>180</b>

As I said it works perfectly on any page that isn't the homepage.

Cheers for the help :)

Correction:

The post count isn't linked itself, but appears as link-style, as defined on plugin options.

I'm trying to get my categories tree look similar to my previous template, with the post count in normal text after the link with the category name. However, I haven't yet found where this line is created.

Now, what I have is this (in pseudo-html):

[a href...]Category name (post count)[/a]

What I want:

[a href...]Category name[/a] (post count)

Where can I change this?

I needed a way to display my categories as a list that was collapsible/expandable. I tried using the WP-dTree plugin and it was mostly fine except I was irritated that the text doesn't wrap.

I found a great alternative that does the same thing but works a little better. It's not a WP plugin, it uses jQuery, but it looks just the same and is easy to implement.
