I have been looking for the same thing (to remove the div that wraps around the content in the text widget). For example, I want to manually input HTML code of a list of things, so I have added ul before widget and closing ul after widget, now all I would want to do is in the text widget input the li's but these li's are being automatically wrapped with that div so it would be cool If i could just stop that div appearing completely.

I understand if I change the core file...I will have to do it again and again every time i will upgrade wordpress, so wondering is there any simple way of doing this and avoiding to re-change the code once i upgrade my wordpress?

Hi,

Pretty surprised no integration has appeared to date, but really looking for the following:

In your Wordpress Articles, a widget or plugin to list associated products from your Magento store. Perhaps to recognise products based on Wordpress Tags to Magento Product Keywords?

Magento uses blocks and includes, so would be great to see WP/Magento working together.

Anyone?

Ah I see I read what you said wrong. Any way I do not find where to edit the title of the tag cloud widget because when you use the widget it says no options for this widget.
If it requires you to edit files then it is not built in at least not in my opinion.

I was able to find a mod that did both I found random tag cloud to be able to change the widget name and I found hs tag cloud for the tag page.
I do wish both these mods were built in as that would be great.

Oops I used the word mods instead of plug in. To me they are the same thing as some scripts call them mods some adons and some plug ins.

I do like wordpress and as of right now I am using it on 3 different sites. Some thing I would love to see in future releases of WP is the ability to change the tag cloud widget title and have a link in the tag cloud that would take you to a page with all tags.

I am running the "This Just In!" theme, and instead of using the built-in sidebar, I am using widgets. I read that WP is set up so it is one or the other -- built-in sidebar or widgetized sidebar.

Now that I am running the widgetized sidebar, I'd like to tweak a few settings, such as the space between each widget and the alignment of the top of the sidebar overall. Are the widgetized sidebar settings still governed by settings.php and/or style.css? Or are the settings now elsewhere in a different file?

I know this is probably a basic question, so forgive my newbie-hood! :-)

Fyi, this is the code from sidebar.php, which makes me think it may no longer be active once widgetized:

	<?php /* Widgetized sidebar, if you have the plugin installed. */
	if ( !function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar() ) : ?>

<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/searchform.php'); ?>

 <?php get_calendar(); ?>

Author

A little something about you, the author. Nothing lengthy, just an overview.

 <?php wp_list_pages('title_li=Pages' ); ?>

Archives

 <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?>

Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask this.
I would like to add location information in every post. Since I'm in Italy, there should be two sets of information: the Region (Tuscany, Lombardia, etc) and the relative Province (Florence, Milan). I tried with the Multiple Category Selection Widget, but it doesn't seem to be the right choice. The ideal would be a drop-down menu with the Regions and, if I click a Region inside that, all the Provinces in that Region should appear in a second drop-down menu. That widget doesn't seem to work that way. I thought about custom fields ("Region" and "Province" as keys and the relative names as values) but I don't know how to create the menus.
I'll try to make another example.
Let's say I have 3 posts:
Post 1) Region: Lombardia - Province: Milano
Post 2) Region: Lombardia - Province: Brescia
Post 3) Region: Tuscany - Province: Florence
If I click on "Lombardia" in the first menu, don't click anything on the second and just click the search button, the page should load Post 1 AND Post 2. If I click on "Lombardia" and then on "Brescia" on the secon drop-down menu and click search, I should see only Post 2. If I click on "Tuscany" or "Tuscany-Florence" I should always see only Post 3. Does this makes any sense? Can any of you help me understand which could be the best way to achieve this? Is there anything I could use?
Thank you very much! =)
Yuri

Hi all,
I've been trawling through the Picasa web album plugins to try and find one that does what I need, but I've yet to track one down that behaves the way I want.

What I want:
- A sidebar-based widget that will display a thumbnail of the MOST RECENT photo within a picasa web album that I specify. The thumbnail should then link to the photo itself (or failing that, to the album).

Seems simple enough, but all versions I've found so far either display RANDOM thumbnails, or are more geared on displaying full-sized album images within Wordpress.

Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Colin

Jonas:

Actually, I just submitted my first plugin request yesterday, so it's only been 1 day for me. I'm sure the WP approvers must be a number of volunteers kindly donating their time to review submissions, and given the holidays (here in the US), maybe things might take a little longer than usual.

Sounds like you may be at the same step that I'm at: submitted a request, but haven't been granted access to svn yet. Correct? In which case, the readme.txt file hasn't been uploaded/submitted yet, so I guess that's not even an issue at this point.

1 thing, too: I was under the impression that the Plugin URL we supply during the application process is a link to a home/landing page on our site with information about the plugin -- not a .zip file itself. But, I could be wrong about that.

adamt07: Thanks for your input on this process! I'm sorta wondering where along the way you had that "little trouble" -- sounds like it was with using svn, no? If that's the case, then it would seem to be after the approval stage that Jonas and I are currently at.

As for actually using Subversion (svn), I've got these URLs in my notes to review, once I have about an hour or 2 to sit down and really absorb it all -- and of course have been granted svn access.

It may have taken up to 3 or 4, but I know it didn't take a week. Did you follow their instructions to the letter? I do remember having a little trouble, and having to go back and redo it because I didn't do one step just right. But I've published one plugin to the repository, so I don't have a ton of experience in getting them into the SVN. If you followed it just right and your files were all in order, you may want to try to shoot the wordpress guys an email asking what's going on.

Thanks, yeah - I am under the impression too that WP reviews the request first and only afterwards grants access to the svn. However, there doesn't seem to be any information on how long this actually takes. I've slightly modified the readme (added the two missing sections FAQs and screen shots) - but still don't know when to expect something from WP.

Have you ever submitted your own plugin?

with 'www.mylinkwebsite.com' being the hyperlink you want to use.
btw: - target="_blank" opens the link in a new window.

Perhaps in the code posted above, there's a URL that I need to change?

my goal was a short list of movies i recently voted on imdb in my sidebar. since imdb offers a rss feed with that information i just added a rss widget instance with the proper url.

two things that i did not like:
- rss icon in the sidebar does not fit my puristic, black/white design
- permalink of feed did not point to _my_ vote history, but to some other page

so i added a checkbox to the options to disable the rss icon and a textbox to override the permalink.

here's the patch against 2.8.6:
http://demmer.ipax.at/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/more_rss_widget_options.patch

would very much appreciate inclusion into trunk to save me the hassle of patching after every upgrade, thank you! ;)

Hi, esmi, thanks for that. The issue was lot deeper than that in which the widgets didn't appear on the site in the order they were on the set-up page. They just keep re-arranging themselves.

I did solve this and for the benefit on of anyone else tearing their hair out and looking for the solutions. This was the scenario:

Widgets not appearing in the order as programmed:
Eventually after a very long time I found the problem was only with Firefox. No issue on IE or Google Chrome. The fix was pretty easy in the end. Just cleared ALL cache, cookies and browser history. Problem Solved

Thanks
Mark

this is what you have:

.widget widg_is_duplicate{margin-left: 1em;}

(in any case, you would need a dot infront of .widg_is_..)

however it is not responding to changes, so change the line to this, which is responding:

.widg_is_duplicate{margin-left: 1em;}

and adapt the number to get the result you want ( 0.75em; would get it centered ).

Does NOT work...

By doing some "Try and Error" I discovered how to fix this:
Went do "pages -> Edit".
Checked the "Disable Lightbox" Box
Saved the page
UNchecked the "Disable Lightbox" Box
Saved again

Ta-Daaaa - working.

Maybe it was the Lightbox plugin that was not working.

Hello there,

I am currently using a theme that uses one side bar, yet includes two sidebars in the theme (one for main page, one for single posts)

I would like to edit a widget that is slightly floating outside the borders of the sidebar.

You can see what I mean here..

http://www.designtavern.com/2009/11/unique-and-quirky-greeting-cards/
(about midway down, the grey box with three tabs)

From my limited CSS knowledge I would like to apply {margin-left: 1em;} to this particular widget.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!
